Supporting Welsh Infrastructure with the Fuuse App

Written by Alicia Bennett

In line with Welsh language regulations, the Fuuse app is now fully available in Welsh. This applies to white labelled versions of the app too.

Starting with The Welsh Language Act 1993, a series of acts have been passed in Wales to ensure Welsh and English languages are treated with equal status. One of the most visible examples of this is road signage in Wales where information is displayed in both Welsh and English. Another less obvious example is translation of information relating to EV charging. Having this in place is not only a matter of compliance but essential for accessibility of charging infrastructure for those whose first or preferred language is Welsh.

Why was it important for Fuuse to translate the app to Welsh?

By translating the app to Welsh, Fuuse enables public operators and bodies to provide a Welsh-translated EV charging app that allows Welsh speakers to use the app in their preferred language. This leads to:

English is not the first language for many Welsh communities and in some cases, it’s not spoken at all. Diversifying the driver app to include Welsh translation increases accessibility and removes barriers to EV adoption across Wales.

Enhancing EV charging experience for drivers is key for those working with EV charging infrastructure and software. Welsh-speaking drivers can now start, manage and end their charging sessions through an app translated in their native language, making the journey more intuitive and user-friendly.

Tender-ready support: This isn’t just a feature, it’s a strategic enabler. With Welsh language integration, Fuuse helps partners meet tender requirements and deliver more inclusive, future-ready infrastructure in Wales.
