NEW: Maximise charger utilisation with Bookings

Written by Barbara Morris

Boost your revenue and increase charger utilisation by empowering drivers to reserve your charge points with Fuuse Bookings. As a result, Bookings can enhance the overall charging experience for drivers and improve customer loyalty to your chargers.

Accept Bookings at your chargers

Fuuse Bookings in PlatformIn the Fuuse platform, you can now set your chargers to accept Bookings under the Driver section. Within the Bookings tab, you have visibility of all your charger Bookings, with complete control to cancel any Bookings as needed.

Bookings are set within the platform by charge site instead of individual chargers. This is to avoid a driver arriving to their reserved charger to find the previous vehicle has not vacated the charger on time.

What if the reserved charger is already taken?

In the 30 minutes before the reservation is scheduled, the charger will only allow the booked driver to initiate a charge. However, if someone is already using the designated charger by this 30 minute buffer time, the reservation will reassign to the nearest charger.

To help discourage drivers leaving their vehicles at a charge point for too long, you might want to consider incorporating Overstay Fees to your charge point transactions. Overstay Fees begin accruing as an additional charge if a vehicle remains plugged into a charger after the charge is complete. Learn more about Overstay Fees.

Fuuse Bookings Details screen on the Driver AppReserving a charger

Within the details of a selected charger in the Fuuse Driver App, an EV driver can choose to reserve the charger no later than 30 minutes in advance.

The driver will receive a reminder email, and, if turned on in the Fuuse Driver App, a notification will display on their phone with the reservation details and Charger ID.

If a driver does not show up to their reserved charger, the Booking will expire after 15 minutes, minimising loss of potential revenue and ensuring maximum availability of your chargers.

Bookings will be disabled during the hours that a charge site is not open, and a driver cannot book multiple charge sites at the same time.

Entice more drivers to your chargers

Bookings are most useful when your chargers are visible to more EV drivers.  With Fuuse latest location services and charge card integrations, drivers can find and reserve your chargers ahead of their journey

With Fuuse charger promotional features, you can permit your chargers to be listed on popular charger navigation maps such as Zap-Map, Google Maps, and Apple Maps. Not only will you increase the visibility of your chargers, which in turn can maximise your revenue, but also you'll be helping to bolster the public chargers available, thus aiding the overall transition to EV.

Additionally, you can increase your charge point accessibility by accepting major charge cards as payment, such as Paua, Allstar, and Octopus Electroverse. This opens your charge points to a wider population of drivers who pay for charging via network charge cards. Offering payment availability to more charge cards not only encourages more business to your charge points, but also improves the charging experience for the driver.
